1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating a BiteCal account or using the BiteCal mobile app, website, or share pages ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use BiteCal. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Users between 13 and 18 should have parental consent.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at legal@bitecal.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract source code from the Service.
• Use automated scripts to scrape, crawl, or otherwise access the Service.
• Impersonate another user or provide false information.

5. AI-Generated Nutritional Data

BiteCal uses AI models to estimate nutritional values from text and photo inputs. These estimates are not medical advice and may be inaccurate. Always consult a qualified dietitian or physician for medical nutrition therapy. You assume all risk associated with reliance on AI-generated nutritional data.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

Certain features require a paid subscription, billed via Apple App Store or Google Play billing. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refund requests are handled by the respective platform in accordance with their policies.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and software comprising the Service are owned by or licensed to BiteCal. You retain ownership of personal health data you input. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your data for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete account. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days pursuant to our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BiteCal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union / Turkey (adjust to your jurisdiction). Disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration unless prohibited by applicable law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified via in-app notice or email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
